 My respect for Columbia was never high and has declined in recent years. Turley’s piece describes one reason why.

 I think the problem goes way beyond Columbia. My maximum likelihood estimate is that much of the political craziness of recent years is due to the kind of university faculties described in Turley’s piece.

 Past university faculties also suffered from these kinds of aberrations: remember the popularity of Communism among past intellectuals?
